Stop and experience the Rain

This is sheer bliss! Take time to stop and enjoy life!

carolyncolemangrady

This video shares a child’s excitement and experiences in the rain. Smiling and amazed at each drop on her face. In this fast track society, and many pressing engagement adult forget the rain. The rain brings with it a refreshing, calming adventure that few adults experience in their life time. The question becomes have we discounted the small things that bring us joy? When is the last time you ran in the rain and laughed? Adults are concerned about getting a cold, hair wet and tracking water on their brand new rug if this is you raise your hand. Both my hands are up.

When I saw this video I felt like some adults have loss their passion for fun. Adults tend to worry, fret and complain. Where is the little child inside of us? This child trusting something she has never experienced not afraid but enjoying every moment. Sometimes…

Is that Cello big enough: It’s heavy

LOVE THIS!

carolyncolemangrady

I thought tonight would be a great time to relax and listen to Michael Meets Mozart. Do you know that there are many among us that do not know how to relax, unwind and allow the music to set you free. Free from the noise of the world, it allows you to experience the motion of the sound. This song infuses movement, courage, strength and empowerment. If you listen to each instrument and the tones it provides to the ear you would be amazed at what your imagination will give you. When I listen to the piano I imagine myself barefoot in streams of running water, like a river over flowing. Looking through the crystal movements of each ripple that runs over my feet.

When the sound of the music escalates and brings in the additional instruments it engulfs my mind to explore the dept of my being. I can…

Tika Won’t Smile

TIKA needs your help! She desperately needs dental surgery and we are seeking donations. Please, every $1 helps. I gave some. Will you? Thank you!

Everyday Wiggles

Yesterday was a super busy day for mom, so she wasn’t able to update how Tika is doing. Tika is a fighter in every sense of the word, her hip doesn’t stop her (she had surgery years ago), and she does like the snow, its just seeing her lack of interest in eating and having to bribe her to do so.

My recent post about Tika which you can read about here http://ramblingpets.wordpress.com/2014/02/26/determined-for-tika/ has been shared by a few and we are so grateful for the work that others have done to help us. Just think for every dollar donated how quickly we could have her scheduled for her surgery and recovering?

We would like to thank Jeanne Melansom whose literally gone out of her way to help share and promote Tika’s cause. Please check out her website she writes amazing stuff! http://www.jeannemelanson.com/fundraising-for-a-senior-dog-named-tika

We are over $100 now towards Tika’s…

Determined for Tika

Will you help Tika become painfree? She needs dental work so that she can eat. I donated $25 but she needs much more. Will you help too?

Everyday Wiggles

I’m not sure what it will take to show people that Tika, an 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Chihuahua, with eyes and snow white fur that make me see a beautiful seal pup :), really needs help. Our last fundraiser didn’t raise much, but because she is who she is, I won’t let her down.

I have done some researching on ways to run a better fundraiser campaign and to be honest I can’t let her down. I advocate for animal welfare, how could I not do the same for her?

The Best News I Heard All Week!

A beautiful story. So sweet!

Dogpaddling Through Life

Thanks to Sue Manning at the Associated Press, we learned this week of an amazing story of two blind cows, Sweety and Tricia.

farm sanctuary photo Sweety and Tricia meet for the first time (photo by Farm Sanctuary)

Sweety was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Canada by Refuge RR, a horse sanctuary in Ontario, and needed a new home. So Refuge staff put the word out.

Farm Sanctuary in New York currently cares for a blind cow, Tricia, who was also rescued from a slaughterhouse. Tricia lost her companion last year, and has been sad ever since.

So the folks at the two rescues decided they needed to be together.

But it wasn’t so easy. There was lots of paperwork to be done to bring Sweety across the border. It took almost a month!

Eventually the big day arrived, and Sweety came to her new home…

School Suspends Teen Boy for Carrying Purse. Why?

I wanted to reblog this article because it speaks so much to me. I’m all about letting people be who they are. It bothers me that people have their own thoughts about how things are supposed to be. What’s wrong with a boy carrying a certain bag? Who is he hurting? Nail-polish on a guy? Who cares? Who says that men have to be like this, and women have to be like that? I don’t get it. Where did it start? Who said, “Women MUST shave their legs and a man just NOT.” for example. Just let people BE, for peace sake.

Dr. Rebecca Hains

For several weeks, an eighth-grade boy outside of Kansas City has been expressing his individuality by carrying a floral-print Vera Bradley purse. But yesterday, his assistant principal demanded he remove it. The boy refused, and he was immediately suspended from school.

This raises a question: Why is it a problem for a boy to carry a purse instead of a backpack if he wants to? By breaking gender stereotypes, he’s not hurting anyone. Instead, he’s showing the world that he has good self-esteem and self-confidence—that he is secure his identity.

Unfortunately, his school administrators’ actions show that they want to force a 13-year-old kid into stereotypical masculinity. Apparently, they value gender conformity over creativity and individuality.
